STAFF CORE VALUES

1. CHRIST CENTERED
This is Jesus' church, not ours; our desire is to discern His will

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

2. BIBLICALLY ROOTED
The Bible is God's word and is the ultimate authority of faith.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." II Timothy 3:16

3. WE SERVE THE CONGREGATION
Our primary task is to help people discover, understand, and live the life God intends for them.

Part of our task is to help people stay focused on Christ's purpose and mission for our church. In discerning the difference between spiritual wants and needs, we will focus on needs.

We are not here to "run" the church; we are accountable to the church, not the other way around

We are to treat all parishioners with respect, courtesy, and love and be open minded to suggestions.

4. LIVE A BALANCED LIFE, WHICH INCLUDES:
A LOVING ATMOSPHERE

The things that form a loving atmosphere are: Support, Self Care, Tolerance of ideas, Respect of family needs, Openness, and Communication.

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2

SPIRITUAL, EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL, AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
All four areas taken seriously
Discipline of Sabbath (spiritual)
Workshops/conventions/seminars mandatory (professional growth)
Personal Bible Study (spiritual)
Healthy body (physical)
Reading books and journals and magazines (emotional and professional)

5. EXCELLENCE
The keys to excellence are:
Concentrated hard work
Accountability
God deserves our best
Work in area of giftedness

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23

6. TRANSPARENT LIVES
Walk the talk
Our lives reflect God's will
Vulnerability (willingness to not hide our weaknesses from each other)
Do the best we can

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16

7. STAFF OF PRAYER
Individually and collectively, pray for each other and pray for others who are hurting
Always be ready to pray with someone; believe in the power of intercessory prayer
Give thanks.
Be sure to listen when praying
Prayer is the foundation of our relationship with God
Prayer brings us into God's will

"… if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." II Chronicles 7:14
